CATCH My Breath Program Manager

Organization
CATCH Global Foundation
Job Description
Manage the strategic direction and promotion of the CATCH My Breath youth e-cigarette prevention program!

CATCH My Breath is the newest part of a portfolio of CATCH child health programs. CATCH has the most scientific evidence of effectiveness in improving child health and preventing obesity. Our core physical education and nutrition programs are used in 10,000 schools and communities throughout the US and reach over 2 million kids ages 4-14 annually. We also reach 100,000 kids ages 3-7 with early childhood sun safety programming.

In 2015, in response to the e-cigarette epidemic which saw a 900% increase in youth use over 5 years, we partnered with The University of Texas School of Public Health’s Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living to create CATCH My Breath. Initial program results have been excellent and in just 18 months, it has taken off and is now used in middle and high schools in 20 states. It has attracted endorsement and funding from state and local health authorities around the country, a dissemination grant from St. David’s Foundation, and is on the verge of winning national support.

CATCH Global Foundation supports communities around the world who wish to create healthier environments for their kids through training, support, and health education in nutrition, physical activity, sun safety and e-cigarette prevention. We are backed by MD Anderson Cancer Center, UTHealth, the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Humana Foundation, and several Blue Cross Blue Shield plans around the country. We are currently working on large CATCH projects in El Paso, the Bronx, California, New Orleans, Oklahoma and Ecuador.

In this role, you will work directly with the Executive Director and other stakeholders to:

-      Evangelize CATCH My Breath with large school districts, state and local health and education departments, and other community organizations
-      Recruit coalitions and sites to implement the program in middle and high schools across 12 priority states
-      Lead program development strategy in collaboration with internal and external partners
-      Develop a voice as the CATCH My Breath expert through public speaking, media outreach, and regional and national events and conferences
-      Collaborate with our communications team to set editorial and local activation event calendar, and to crowdsource video, pictures, testimonials and other content from users
-       Liaise with key partners and funders as primary program contact

We are based in Austin, TX and are accepting candidates in any location around the country - relocation is not required.

Candidates need outstanding persuasion and interpersonal skills, proven connections and reputation in
school health education (tobacco control experience is a plus), and passion for kids and health.

Help shape the future of children’s health and have fun!
